Sleep Apnea & Snoring Treatment

Sleep Apnea device

Why Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment is important?

Snoring is often seen as harmless, but in many cases, it can be a sign of a more serious condition called obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This sleep disorder occurs when the airway becomes blocked during sleep, causing pauses in breathing. These interruptions reduce oxygen levels and prevent restful sleep, which can lead to daytime fatigue, poor concentration, headaches, and long-term health risks like high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

Loud snoring, gasping for air during sleep, and feeling tired despite a full night’s rest are key warning signs of sleep apnea. It affects people of all ages but is more common in men, those who are overweight, and individuals with a narrow airway or a family history of the condition. Smoking, alcohol use, and sleeping on your back can make symptoms worse.

Dentists also play a role in treating sleep apnea by providing custom-made oral appliances. These devices gently reposition the jaw to prevent airway blockage and are often a good alternative for patients who find CPAP uncomfortable.

If you or your partner notice signs of sleep apnea, don’t ignore them. Early diagnosis and treatment can greatly improve your sleep, health, and overall quality of life.

We are providing jaw advancement appliance to help patient with OSA.

The Silensor-sl can be expected to be very successful since in almost all cases the noise involved in snoring is caused by con- striction of the airways. Because of its compact design, the device does not inhibit breathing through the mouth.

The effectiveness of, Silensor-sl Device

The Silensor-sl consists of one splint for the upper jaw and one for the lower jaw. The lower jaw is either held in a predetermined position or advanced by 2 connectors that are fixed laterally to the splint. The Silensor-sl thus counteracts the narrowing of the respiratory tracts. The velocity of theinspired air decreases and so do noise-generating vibrations of soft tissues. With the Silensor-sl jaw movements are possible but no falling back of the lower jaw.
